The staff and visitor school toilet refurbishment at Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth needed to be completed during the summer holiday period. The school were keen to achieve a hotel and executive office feel to the ladies and gents washrooms and approached Lan Services to specify the toilet refurbishment project.

The toilet rooms are used by both staff and visitors and had to be highly presentable but robust enough for easy maintenance. The school needed the ladies’ toilet room to incorporate an additional toilet cubicle meaning a new toilet room layout was designed to make better use of the available space.

Washroom products specified within the design of the toilet refurbishment included half height IPS duct panels to the rear of the toilets to conceal pipework and solid surface vanity tops. The lockable access panels beneath the vanity units created easy access for cleaners to change soap bottles supplying the counter mounted soap dispensers.

Walls were tiled with large porcelain beige tiles and floors covered with Polyflor Expona Control, creating a safe, slip resistant toilet floor.

New energy efficient unvented water heaters were installed beneath the vanity units, supplying warm TMV3 temperature controlled water to the lever operated taps. The TMV3 valves ensure that the warm water supply will never scald or exceed 41 degrees.

The school toilet refurbishment project was completed within time and budget. Use of stainless steel hardware combined with large porcelain wall tiles and the beige/brown colour scheme helped achieve the desired executive washroom finish.
