Lan Services were engaged for the design specification and installation of Baden-Powell and St Peter’s Church of England Junior School in Parkstone, near the Sandbanks peninsula. The female staff washrooms were coming to the end of their usable life and with some cubicles persistently of order, and space often being used for storage, the washrooms were in need of a new approach.

During half term our DBS checked staff removed the existing washroom, stripping it back to an empty shell. We created a custom storage cupboard for the school’s high-visibility vests, while simultaneously concealing a water heater, which helped aid the sleek aesthetics of the new washroom.

Solid Grade Laminate cubicles were also fitted, which offer exceptional durability and longevity, as they’re completely impervious to water and won’t swell or weaken through ingress water.

Previously, the washroom was home to a lot of exposed pipework, so full height duct sets were used to conceal almost all of the pipework, which made the washroom much easier to clean and sanitise. A hygienic PVC wall cladding was used alongside an Altro Walkway non-slip vinyl floor, further adding to the easy-clean nature of the school’s new washroom.

A new suspended ceiling allowed us to hide services and provide improved lighting to the washroom. Lan Services also created a bespoke vanity unit, housing three washbasins while still leaving generous counter space to allow for make-up and other items.

Counter mounted soap dispensers and stainless steel hand dryers helped to finish this washroom off, along with new radiators fitted with chrome pipework.

Baden-Powell and St Peter’s Junior School new female staff washrooms were fitted on time and to budget with minimal disruption to school operations. The turn-key service was partly carried out in term time by our DBS checked staff and our relationship with the school is continuing.
